Birthday Eve

It was Monday and I have no plan what so ever. It was my country's 64th independence day, and I can't see any more glory out of my motherland. It was like any other day off from work. Alas, I was playing my daily dose of Playfish games on Facebook. Fenny greet me on YM, then suddenly I remembered a sale on Emporium, Gramedia. That was the last day, so I asked her out.

The Emporium was exceptionally crowded that day. Gramedia was packed. Books were scattered, unorganized. Occasionally, the store salesmen reorganize them. I failed to buy anything in the end. I couldn't see any book worth reading in that hectic moment, neither did she.

I was beginning to feel her company on J.Co, otherwise it would be another dull day. She bought the couple yogurt and we talked a good 30 minutes -- she did much of the talking, of course. She talked about work: her plan to resign her dreadful office; about cellphone: her lost Motorolla K1, my plan to buy a new one; and her holiday plan to Europe ^^.

She browsed 4 women clothing stores, asked my opinion on a few shirts and shoes. I know that she was saving for Europe, so I disagree to anything she found interesting.

We dined at 8, Solaria, sat on a small space next to the cashier. I had my usual fried rice and she ordered nasi ayam rica-rica -- chicken with sweet sour ketchup. We talked about our mutual friends.

We decided to go home after meal. I tagged along her car to the mall exit. It was not a short ride. Cars queued from P8 -- from the top. Thus, we continued our conversation in her car. It was about 20 minutes -- 6 songs, then she dropped me to go our separate ways.

It has been a while since last time both of us went out together. It was fun and worthwhile. I guess it was a date.
