Bogor in a Heartbeat

Yesterday was plain. All I did was sitting in front of my computer, online. Chatting, watching DVD, scanning my old computer for viruses. Not that I'm complaining. I can think of duller days.

Well, today is fun. I have yet another good time with Geng Jadoel.

BSD or Bogor. Those were yesterday's options for this Sunday. Although we settled for BSD, but apparently Velin had her "discomfort" toward someone got to her mind. Typically Velin of course. Cynthia is surely fit to her role as a provocateur. Ha ha ha ha. Then off we went to Bogor after just 2 minutes of provocation from jadoelers, bidding Chan and his partner via phone call by Amel.

Chan seldom uses his car when he's around us. We were supposed to be two car convoy to BSD. He waited us at a rest area when he got Amel's call. I can't imagine what Chan was feeling that moment. I haven't really know him that well. If I were him, I'd probably feel disappointed. What would you feel if your friends bail out on you? Amel reminded us about karma.

Thus the gang arrived at Bogor a little over an hour -- the MP3s sure killed the time. It was about 2 PM when we picked up Erline and her sis, Laura. Velin was on edge cause she hasn't had any meal, so we set off to Gang Aut to taste what soto mie Agih is all about. I looked for another cuisine because I'm a vegetarian. Erline was kind enough to accompany me to another dining place a few doors away that serves mie hijau. For 13.000 IDR I had a delicious green noodle with mushroom ^^. I'd like to try their orange and purple noodles next time. Even though I know they taste the same.

We browsed the street a few minutes after meal, then off to buy asinan, some sort of fruit pickle I guess. One thing that I like about Geng Jadoel is that they are spontaneous and have no shame. Ha ha ha. Out on a crowded street, Lenny saw her cousin named Indra. Lenny was being herself, excited and started telling us about him. In less than five seconds, the car windows were down and they started shouting "Indraaaaa!!!". OMG. Luckily I sat at the back, amazed by their "trait".

Then we're off to Kebun Raya Bogor (KRB). The entrance is difficult to be found. Sure it has many gates, but they're all seem closed. Finally we parked outside and walked all the way to the main entrance. The admission fee is 9.500 per person. We went inside and took a bunch of photos. I'm still waiting for Velin and Amel to post them at Facebook. Looking forward to comment on those wacky ones.

We got out from the other side of KRB, tired. We walked almost an hour. To imagine have to do it all over again is exhausting. So, after quenched our thirst, we decided to take the public bus and made it to our car.

Next thing to that was hunting for sop buah -- fruit soup, kind of like fruits cocktail on the rocks. You can choose either milk or orange soup for your fruits. Sweet and delicious, except for the seeds of those bulky guavas, and it only costs 7.000 IDR. The funny thing was that they serve it on a plastic mini pudding mold. I think it was kind of unique and catchy. It was getting dark, so after we returned Erline and Laura to their house, we were on our way back to Jakarta.
